Since the start of the anti-Covid squeeze, on 11 March 2020, exactly one year ago, there have been 46,838,743 police checks throughout the country to contain the spread of the virus.
In particular, the Interior Ministry points out, the persons controlled were 37,270,329;
of these, 605,944 were sanctioned (1.6%) and 3,987 reported for violating the quarantine.
In the same period, 9,568,414 checks were carried out on commercial activities and businesses which led to penalties against 21,221 business owners (0.2%) and 5,571 closure orders.
During the lockdown period (11 March - 2 June 2020), the highest number of checks was recorded, over 16.6 million people.
From 1 January 2021, 7,563,692 checks were carried out: 6,632,728 people and 930,964 businesses and businesses.
