As of this summer, will we be traveling within the European Union with a “green passport”?
Guest of the “Grand Rendez-vous” Europe 1-CNEWS-Les Echos this Sunday, Thierry Breton, the European Commissioner for the Internal Market, announced that the European authorities were aiming for a health certificate to enter into service as early as June, in order to facilitate travel within the EU during the summer holidays.
This draft "digital green certificate", presented on Wednesday March 17, will contain information "which will indicate that a person has been vaccinated against Covid-19, or that she has cured, or that she has received a negative result. to the test, ”said Thierry Breton.
"It will be either in electronic or paper form", to respect those who "do not want to put this on their smartphone, and it is their right", said the European Commissioner.
Save the summer season
This certificate, with a QR code, will be free and valid in all EU countries.
It will be presented in the language of each country and will be translated into English.
"We are working to have it done before June," said Thierry Breton, so that he is fully in office during the summer.
It is "essential that we do everything to preserve the tourist season," he commented.

And he also wanted to be reassuring about the European vaccination program: "It is not because we are behind on AstraZeneca that we will be behind on our vaccination program for the first trimester," he said. he promised.
