In full preparation before his departure for the International Space Station in April, Thomas Pesquet will have to repair an anomaly when he hits the stars.
Students from Teilhard-de-Chardin college in Chamalières, near Clermont-Ferrand (Puy-de-Dôme), have in fact noticed that the Puys chain - Limagne fault, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2018. , has not been photographed from space.
They therefore decided to issue a challenge to the French astronaut, after discovering his book, “the Earth seen from space”, tells Patrick Groslambert, the principal.

Thomas Pesquet is about to return to space: "It's a new vehicle, we are going to double-check everything"
To capture the attention of Thomas Pesquet, the students decided to make a video.
The first part of the shoot took place in the documentation center of their college, the second will take place at the top of Puy-de-Dôme in the coming days.
“We are working on this video with Nicolas Laporte, a former student who became an astrophysicist at the University of Cambridge in England.
It's a whole educational project that was set up with the teaching team ”, appreciates Patrick Groslambert.
Very motivated, the college students have planned to post their video by the end of the month and are crossing their fingers that @Thom_astro, Thomas Pesquet's nickname on social networks, accepts the challenge.
