(ANSA) - FLORENCE, MAR 15 - Florence and Venice together for the relaunch of the cities of art: the respective mayors Dario Nardella and Luigi Brugnaro today presented a document that will be sent to the government. Among the novelties, the tax relief, for at least three years, for the purchase of packages, rentals and tourist services in Italy to relaunch the sector, but also a national standard that requires specialist qualification for the development of tourism professions in historic centers of the metropolitan capitals, Unesco heritage. And then an increase for the three-year period 2021-2023 of the National Fund for local public transport, two legislative proposals for short leases with tourist purposes and special rules to limit commercial activities or products for free sale. The Decalogue, baptized 'City of art #Nonmetterledaparte', consists of three chapters. The first is dedicated to safeguarding the tourism supply chain and contains four proposals: economic support for workers and companies, incentives for tourism in Italy, activities, tours and experiences in the hands of professionals and the standard for tourist guides. The second chapter deals with the strategic issue of transport and in this regard two proposals are made: increase of the national fund for public transport and development of the non-scheduled public tourist transport sector. In the third chapter we talk about residential with four actions for the relaunch or rules for apartments intended for short-term rentals with a roof of 90 days a year for renting (and a maximum of two houses), special rules for the limitation of commercial activities or of products for free sale, rules for apartments intended for short-term rentals and for the limitation of commercial activities or products for free sale. The proposals on tourist rentals will be examined with the associations representing the hosts. Finally, rules for the protection of urban decorum and security and the development of Smart control rooms for intelligent city management. Nardella stressed that "international tourism in Italy restarts if the cities of art start again", adding then the difficulty of Florence from an economic point of view: for the tourist tax "we are already over five million euros of lost income in the 2021 ". The same goes for Venice: "On public transport - said Brugnaro - the impact of Covid has resulted in a loss of € 80 million from tourist tickets for Venice in 2020. This year we expect a loss of another 60 million".
