We all cleanse the face and body as part of our routine but have you given enough thought to what product is really right for you and what type of skin do you have at all?

Skin is the largest organ in the human body and there are five common skin types in the population.

The purpose of cleansing the face and body is to remove dirt from the surface, which originates from a variety of factors such as: cosmetics, dust, air pollution, sweat, dirt, dead cells and bacteria.

In order to keep skin clean and smooth and not cause irreversible damage, it is recommended to clean the facial skin at least twice a day (morning and evening) and once a week to perform a deeper cleansing with the help of peeling.

Each person has a slightly different skin type and the cleansing and grooming routine should be adapted to him.

What type of skin do I have?

The skin types are divided into five main types:

Normal facial skin

- the skin looks healthy, medium pores and no dry or oily areas, smooth texture.

Dry facial skin

- The skin texture is taut and reddish.

There is a tendency to develop dandruff, the complexion can sometimes appear gray or pale.

Normal / combination facial skin

- The skin looks healthy, medium pores and no particularly dry or oily areas, smooth texture.

This is the most common type of skin among the population in Israel, the center of the face will be oily (mainly in the nose area) and the circumference is dry, but without extreme reaction or sensitivity.

Oily face skin

- skin with a shiny appearance with open pores, the skin has a pimple texture and there is a lot of tendency to 'black' (or acne).

Sensitive facial skin

- sensitive and thin skin, responds to the sun's rays very easily, develops redness and spots, with sensitive pores.

Most of the population in Israel has normal / combination facial skin.

How to clean the face depending on the skin type?

The choice of facial cleansing product depends on the type of skin but also on the personal preference of each one regarding the feeling that the product leaves behind.

Some will prefer to clean the face with an lotion that leaves a pleasant feeling and in contrast, others will prefer a facial soap that is washed with water and leaves a "cleaner" feeling.

Dry facial skin

- requires gentle and non-intense cleansing, in order not to remove the natural fat layers of the skin that protect it.

It is recommended to clean with a facial soap mixed with coconut oil or with a cream with a delicate texture rich in moisture, or with a rich face lotion with moisturizing and nourishing ingredients and elastic materials (extracts based on extracts and cereal oils).

Oily facial skin

-

Oily

skin cleansing will be done with non-alcoholic ingredients.

The purpose of the detergent is to remove the excess fat secreted from the pores.

Grease and wound-absorbing material that contains antibacterial substances to prevent infections and inflammation, as well as substances that help shrink the pores (before cleaning, pay attention to the condition and severity of the wounds on the skin).

For oily facial skin, it is recommended to use a cleanser that contains ingredients to shrink the pores.

Mixed / normal facial skin

- should be cleaned with moisturizing and nourishing ingredients.

You can also use products that contain alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) which removes the fat cells and dead cells and on the other hand balances the mammary gland.

Owners of this type (which is the most common in Israel) have a large selection of products at their disposal and they can replace cleaning products according to the seasons and the level of humidity in the air.

Sensitive facial skin

- This type of skin tends to react quickly and intensely to substances, which can cause discomfort or irritation as well as spots and redness.

Due to this, the detergents should have a smooth and delicate texture without parabens, preservatives, SLS and perfumes.

You can use gentle soaps, bath lotions with a soft texture and even almond, tea tree and olive oil.

In addition, it is recommended to use substances that contain urea (moisturizer) and altonin (tissue re-substance) that contribute to the healing of sensitive skin.
