He owns a jogging suit, after all: "I do a little sport, I can't do that in a tailor-made suit," Martin Suter told SPIEGEL in 2019 - but otherwise the Swiss bestselling author is considered a gentleman writer.
It's hard to imagine him in football.
At least literarily, he will now have to approach the game: Martin Suter is writing a biographical novel about football world champion Bastian Schweinsteiger.
The book with the title "One of You" is due to appear on September 29, as both announced on Monday.
Suter ("Allmen", "A Perfect Friend") will tell "truths and almost truths" from Schweinsteiger's previous life, as stated in a message from Diogenes Verlag.
Schweinsteiger ended his career in October 2019.
Before that, he had celebrated the biggest victories, especially at Bayern, with eight championship titles, seven successes in the DFB Cup and in 2013 the triumph in the Champions League.
In 2014 he became world champion with the German national soccer team in Rio de Janeiro.
Last June, »Schw31ns7eiger«, a documentary about the 39-year-old produced by Till Schweiger, was released.
