Covid: 12 members in the new Cts, Locatelli coordinator

The new Technical Scientific Committee will be composed of 12 members and the new coordinator will be the President of the Higher Health Council Franco Locatelli. (HANDLE)


(ANSA) - ROME, MARCH 16 - The new Scientific Technical Committee will be composed of 12 members and the new coordinator will be the President of the Higher Health Council Franco Locatelli.


   This is what will be established by an order of the head of Civil Protection Fabrizio Curcio, in agreement with the presidency of the Council.


    The decision was taken "in relation to the new phase of the emergency" and considered "the acceleration of the activities inherent to the new vaccination plan", which made it necessary "to rationalize the activities of the CTS, in order to optimize its functioning also by reducing the number components ".

The new Committee will therefore include not only "members of the scientific-health field" but also experts from the "world of statistics, mathematics-forecasting or other fields useful to define the framework of the epidemiological situation and to carry out the analysis of the collected data necessary to prepare the measures of fighting the pandemic ".


    The new members are therefore Franco Locatelli, SilvioBrusaferro, who will have the role of spokesperson, Sergio Fiorentino, who will be the secretary, Giuseppe Ippolito, CinziaCaporale, Giorgio Palù, Giovanni Rezza, Fabio Ciciliano, SergioAbrignani, Alessia Melegaro, Alberto Giovanni Gerli, DonatoGreco.


    "The previous members of the Committee - concludes the Department - deserve the thanks of the Head of Department for the important work carried out up to now".
