(ANSA) - ROME, MARCH 16 - "We need new heroes, who are in tune with the times we live in. Symbols are nothing without the men and women who give them meaning".

Word of Sam Wilson, aka Falcon, the first African American superhero to appear in the comic book universe of Stan Lee, ally and brotherly friend of Captain America, now protagonist with another historical companion 'in arms' of the stars and stripes superhero, Bucky Barnes / Winter Soldier in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, a new six-part Marvel miniseries debuting March 19 on Disney +.

Protagonists are the two superhero performers already in the Marvel cinematic Universe films, Anthony Mackie (Falcon) and Sebastian Stan (Winter Soldier).

In the cast, among others, also Wyatt Russell, Emily VanCamp and Daniel Bruhl.

However, there will be cameos and surprises.

The trailer

"This is our second Disney + series that comes out (after Wandavision) but the first we had started working on - explains Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios -. We wanted to show that even if it was a TV project, the project could be great (as much as a movie)".

The story starts from the portrait of the two superheroes in a period of crisis and struggling with personal and identity problems.

Always wary of each other, despite having had the best friend in common, Falcon and Winter Soldier, they agree to join together to fight a new threat together.

A mission that takes them, explain the authors (the creator is Malcolm Spellman), in a dynamic similar to that of buddy cop movies (films about characters often in contrast brought to collaborate to fight crime, from lethal weapon to Bad boys, ed. ) explains director Kari Scogland.

For Anthony Mackie: "Falcon has always been an evolving character - he explains -. The opportunity to deepen his background, get to know his family, the places he comes from, improves understanding for the public."

Among the themes addressed in the story also the post-traumatic stress syndrome "which both share as men and soldiers - says Sebastian Stan -. It is one of the things that unites them, there is a sort of honor code between them. they are very different, they have mutual respect ".
