This is what an ordinance of the head of the Civil Protection Fabrizio Curcio will establish, in agreement with the Prime Minister.
The decision was taken "in relation to the new phase of the emergency" and considered "the acceleration of the activities inherent to the new vaccination plan", which made it necessary "to rationalize the activities of the CTS, in order to optimize its functioning also through reduction in the number of members ".
The new Committee will therefore include not only "members of the scientific-health field" but also experts from the "world of statistics, mathematics-forecasting or other fields useful for defining the framework of the epidemiological situation and for carrying out the analysis of the collected data necessary to prepare measures to combat the pandemic ".
The new members are therefore Franco Locatelli, Silvio Brusaferro, who will have the role of spokesperson, Sergio Fiorentino, who has the task of secretary, Giuseppe Ippolito, Cinzia Caporale, Giorgio Palù, Giovanni Rezza, Fabio Ciciliano, Sergio Abrignani, Alessia Melegaro, Alberto Giovanni Gerli, Donato Greco.
The ordinance that will be signed by Curcio provides that the President of the Superior Health Council, who will be the coordinator, the President of the Superior Health Institute (as spokesperson for the Committee), the Scientific Director of the National Institute for Infectious Diseases "Lazzaro Spallanzani", a member designated by the President of the Conference of Regions and Autonomous Provinces, the President of the Ethics Committee of the National Institute for Infectious Diseases "Lazzaro Spallanzani", the Director General of Health Prevention of the Ministry della Salute, the President of AIFA as well as a member indicated by the Department of Civil Protection.
To these will be added an expert in juridical-administrative matters, to be entrusted with the functions of the minutes secretary of the Committee, and three other experts both in matters relating to health and in statistical-mathematical matters.
