In 2019 alone, trade between China and the European Union amounted to 560 billion euros.

For seven years, the EU has been negotiating with the Chinese government to reach an agreement that would provide common rules for these exchanges, replacing over twenty existing bilateral agreements.

This treaty, the Comprehensive Agreement on Investment, was signed on 30 December last.

How did this signing come about?

What are its implications?

Will the parties be able to make it actually operational?

To explore these and many other issues related to EU-China relations, the Catholic University Alumni Association, thanks to the work of its Far-Middle East Committee, has involved three professionals who, working and living in China, can share a privileged view on the future of this agreement.

"The new EU-China relations after the Investment Agreement: legal and financial profiles", is the title of the fourth webinar of the "Alumni Global Talks" cycle, scheduled for Wednesday 17 March at 12.00, which will be attended by Hermes Pazzaglini, alumnus of the faculty of Law and Equity Partner of Nctm Studio Legale;

Matteo Giovannini, Senior Finance Manager ICBC Leasing;

Giulia Gallarati, general secretary and manager of the Italy-China Chamber of Commerce and alumna of the Faculty of Economics.

The meeting will be moderated by Mariangela Pira, SkyTG24 economic journalist.

The live webinar will be streamed on the website of the Ansa news agency, media partner for the series of meetings, and on all the social networks of the University and the “Ludovico Necchi” Association.
