Another famous name joins the ranks.
Idris Elba wants to publish a number of children's books.
The British actor has signed a contract with the book publisher HarperCollins Children's Book, as the industry magazine "The Hollywood Reporter" reports.
Elba therefore relies on picture books and fictional stories for children, which he does not want to develop alone, but with the professional support of Robyn Charteris.
The author has already received the prestigious BAFTA award for one of her children's series.
"I feel privileged to have the opportunity to bring stories to life with my incredible partner Robyn Charteris (...)," said Elba.
The books should come out next year.
Elba is known from the series "The Wire" and "Luther".
He was also seen in the films "Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw" and "Thor: Day of Decision".
He was also traded as the new James Bond for a while.
He has been married to model Sabrina since 2019.
The couple celebrated their wedding with an opulent ceremony in Morocco.
In March 2020, Elba, who suffers from asthma, and his wife were sick with Covid-19.
The illness was frightening, said his wife in an interview at the time: "At some point Idris really thought that this could be the end."
In a video from March, Idris Elba called for the pandemic to be taken very seriously.
