Italian citizens reward the work of the presidents of the Region during the coronavirus emergency.
This is highlighted by the Swg data which confirm the Veneto one, Luca Zaia, at the top of the ranking of the most appreciated governors, followed by that of Emilia-Romagna, Stefano Bonaccini, and by that of Friuli Venezia Giulia, Massimiliano Fedriga.
"In the widespread climate of uncertainty and apprehension - explains the statistical institute - the level of controversy has lowered and people have relied on administrators more than they usually did. The result is a general increase in the approval of governors, with few exceptions ".
Zaia went from 66% of preferences in March 2019 to 79% in 2021, Bonaccini from 62% to 72% and Fedriga from 46% to 60%.
The only president of the South at the top of the ranking is the governor of Campania, Vincenzo De Luca, in fourth place with 57% of preferences (compared to 29% two years ago).
The president of Lombardy, Attilio Fontana, pays for the complicated management of the emergency, passing from 55% in 2019 to 33% in 2021, placing himself in third last place in the standings, ahead of only Christian Solinas (Sardinia) and Vito Bardi (Basilicata) who are in any case growing consensus.
The other governor to have registered a decline, albeit contained, is that of Liguria, Giovanni Toti.
