Covid: infections on the rise 23,059 in 24 hours and 431 victims

The positivity rate is 6.2%. The number of ICU admissions is growing. There are 324 entrances to resuscitation, never so many since the data was communicated (ANSA)


There are 23,059 coronavirus test positives in Italy in 24 hours, according to data from the Ministry of Health, which bring the total to 3,281,810.

20,396 cases were identified on Tuesday.

On the other hand, 431 victims in one day (Tuesday were 502) for a total of 103,432 since the beginning of the emergency.

In Italy there are currently 539.008 positive, with an increase compared to the day before of 2.893.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 2,639,370 people have been healed and discharged, with an increase of 19,716 in the last 24 hours.

On the other hand, there are 509,174 in home isolation, 2,413 more than yesterday.

369,084 molecular and antigenic swabs performed.

Yesterday the tests were 369,379.

The positivity rate rises to 6.2%, up 0.7 points from yesterday when it was 5.5%.

There are 3,317 patients hospitalized in intensive care for Covid in Italy, 61 more than yesterday in the balance between entries and exits, while the daily entrances to resuscitation, according to data from the Ministry of Health, were 324 (yesterday they were 319), never so many since the data was communicated.

On the other hand, 26,517 people are hospitalized in the ordinary wards, with an increase of 419 in the last 24 hours

DATA IN THE REGIONS

VALLE D'AOSTA - 

In Valle d'Aosta the exponential growth of the infection from Covid-19 does not stop: in the last 24 hours, 49 new positive cases have been detected in the face of 458 people subjected to swabs.

The total of the current infected rose to 369, 24 more than yesterday.

The death of a woman in hospital should also be recorded (the total number of victims rises to 419).

This is what emerges from the daily bulletin of the Valle d'Aosta Region on the basis of data released by the Local Health Authority.

24 are healed while 17 are hospitalized at the Parini hospital, two of which are in intensive care.

TRENTINO -

Today there are another 3 deaths from Covid-19 in Trentino, which occurred in hospital.

These are men between the ages of 80 and 85.

This was reported by the bulletin of the Provincial Health Services Agency, according to which the total number of hospitalized patients in hospitals drops to 253 also due to the effect of resignations that yesterday exceeded the new entries (24 against 21).

However, the number of hospitalizations in intensive care has risen to 54.

The new cases tested positive for the molecular are 113 (out of 1,633 swabs) in addition to another 172 positive out of 1,713 rapid antigenic tests.

The molecular also confirmed the positivity of 45 people whose infection had been identified in recent days by rapid tests.

Of today's new positives, most concern asymptomatic (100) or symptomatic patients (178).

Regarding the age groups, there are 55 new cases of children or young people while there are 27 further infections among the over seventy-year-olds.

There are 264 healed today.

FRIULI VENEZIA GIULIA

- "Following the Covid-19 pandemic emergency, which is causing an increase in hospitalizations in the region's hospitals, it is necessary to proceed with the suspension of the surgical activity scheduled for the next two weeks".

This was announced by the deputy governor of Friuli Venezia Giulia with responsibility for Health, Riccardo Riccardi, specifying that "emergencies and emergencies will still be guaranteed in all hospitals".

Today in Friuli Venezia Giulia out of a total of 13,904 tests carried out, 986 cases of positivity to Covid have been detected: 638 from 9,867 molecular swabs with a positive percentage of 6.47%;

348 from 4,037 antigenic rapid tests (8.62%).

The total deaths amounted to 3,057, with the following territorial subdivision: 676 in Trieste, 1,562 in Udine, 612 in Pordenone and 207 in Gorizia.

The totally healed are 67,482, the clinically healed 2,662, while the people in isolation today are 14,388.

PIEDMONT

- Today there are 2,374 new cases of Covid positivity ascertained in Piedmont, with the result of 26,542 swabs (13,937 antigenic), the rate is 9%, the share of asymptomatic 35.2%.

The increase in the number of hospitalized patients is similar to yesterday's data: in intensive care + 16 (a total of 315), in the other wards +112 (total 3,281).

There are 41 deaths (4 registered today), the overall figure since the beginning of the pandemic is 9,766 victims.

The increase in the number of healed continues, +1,723.

The people in home isolation are 27,798, the currently positive 31,394.

LOMBARDY

- With 59,009 swabs carried out, 4,490 new positive cases are in Lombardy, with the positivity rate down to 7.6%.

The number of people hospitalized in intensive care (+16) and in other wards (+167) is increasing.

There are 79 deaths.

VENETO

- Covid numbers are growing strongly even today in Veneto: there are 2,191 new infections and the number of victims rises, 59 in the last 24 hours.

The bulletin of the Region reports it.

The total number of infected since the beginning of the epidemic rises to 359,247, that of victims to 10,259.

Growth also in normal medical departments are 1,600 beds occupied in intensive care 207 (+4).

The number of currently positive subjects increases, 36,442 (+ 729).

Good news comes from Viggiù: only 10 positive cases compared to 100 found among the population of the Valceresio town when the outbreak exploded and mass swabs were made.

Mass vaccination combined with the red zone has brought down the contagion curve, with 10 new cases according to Ats data.

EMILIA ROMAGNA

- A slight slowdown in infections is confirmed in Emilia-Romagna, 2,026 in the last 24 hours on the basis of 37,456 molecular and antigenic, but hospitalizations continue to grow.

Particularly in intensive care where there are 381 beds occupied, the new record that improves the one set yesterday by three units.

It is the highest number since the start of the pandemic.

There are also 52 deaths.

The youngest victims are a 54-year-old man in Bologna and a 58-year-old man in Reggio Emilia.

Of the new positives, the asymptomatic are 960. The number of active cases is growing to almost 70 thousand (69,615), 94.4% of which in home isolation because they do not require special care.

In addition to patients in intensive care, the number of hospitalized in other Covid departments is also growing: there are 3,542, 28 more than yesterday.

The new victims are twelve in the province of Bologna and Forlì-Cesena, seven in Reggio Emilia, six in Parma and Ravenna, five in Modena, two in Ferrara and one in Piacenza and Rimini.

In total, there have been 11,236 deaths in the region since the beginning of the epidemic.

TUSCANY -

 The new positive Covid cases registered in the 24 hours in Tuscany are 1,275 out of 24,938 tests of which 16,398 molecular swabs and 8,540 rapid tests, with a rate of new positives is 5.11% (12.3% on the first diagnoses).

This was announced by Eugenio Giani, president of the Region, on Fb.

The figure for new cases is slightly higher than yesterday (they were 1,247), compared to a more substantial increase in tests (they were 23,470), with a slight decrease in the rate of positives (it was 5.31%).

UMBRIA

- After days of prevalence of those recovered from Covid on new daily cases, today the data of the Region record 324 positives (more than 103.7% compared to yesterday) and 315 negative results for the virus.

It emerges from the data on the Region's website which also reports ten other deaths, with the currently positive at 5,904, one less than yesterday.

The swabs analyzed were 3,364 and the antigen tests 3,185.

The positivity rate on the total is therefore 4.9 percent (yesterday it was 2 percent) and on the molecular only 9.6 percent (it was 4).

There are 485 hospitalized in hospital, five more than yesterday, 79 of which (one more) in intensive care.

ABRUZZO - 

The number of municipalities in Abruzzo included in the "lightened" red zone envisaged by the Region has risen to 41.

Seven are added: four from Teramo, two from Aquila and one from Chieti.

The measures will be in effect from midnight until March 28th.

The relative ordinance was signed in the afternoon by the president of the Abruzzo Region, Marco Marsilio.

Meanwhile, 304 new coronavirus cases have been ascertained in the last few hours.

The new cases emerged from the analysis of 4,447 molecular swabs: 6.84% of the samples were positive.

Intensive therapies are increasing, which are still at very high values.

There are 10 deaths: the death toll rises to 1,934.

The number of those healed is very high, reaching almost one thousand.

Consequently, the figure on the currently positive falls, which returns to below 12 thousand units.

The new positives are between 10 months and 94 years old.

MARCHE

- Two weeks of rising numbers for hospitalizations related to Covid-19 in the Marche: on the last day they reached 880 (+12) mainly due to a surge in patients in Semi-intensive care (226, +12);

48 people discharged.

The number of patients in intensive care (133) and in non-intensive wards (521) remains unchanged, however, according to the Regional Health Service.

Ups and downs for emergency room assistants who after yesterday's descent (-12) are up (141, +16).

Guests of territorial structures are 235 (+2).

Positives in home isolation decreased slightly (9,237, -47) while quarantines for 'contact' with positives increased (21,829, +292; 8,575 with symptoms, 383 health workers).

LAZIO

- Cases have increased in the last 24 hours in Lazio.

Out of a total of over 39,000 tests, 1,728 positives (+231 compared to yesterday), 20 deaths (-12) and +1,723 recovered were recorded.

Cases in the city of Rome are at an altitude of 800. Deaths are decreasing, while cases, hospitalizations and intensive care are increasing.

The ratio between positives and buffers is 10%, but if the antigenic substances are also considered the percentage is 4%.

CAMPANIA

- There are 2,665, of which 632 symptomatic, the new Covid infections in Campania out of 22,392 tests processed.

Stable data compared to yesterday, as well as the incidence rate which is 11.9% against 11.82 24 hours ago.

The daily bulletin of the Crisis Unit reports 33 victims (after yesterday's surge to 65 deaths) and 2,058 recovered.

The hospital situation slightly improved compared to the day before: the places occupied in intensive care are 161 (-4), those in hospitalization 1,541 (-2).

BASILICATA -

 In Basilicata (orange area) 1,384 molecular swabs were analyzed yesterday: 136 tested positive for coronavirus and of these 124 belong to residents in the region.

This was announced by the regional task force, specifying that four deaths have been recorded in the last 24 hours, with the total number of Lucanian victims therefore risen to 384. The number of people hospitalized in Lucanian hospitals drops from 179 to 173, of which 14 (two less than yesterday) in intensive care, six at San Carlo di Potenza and eight at Madonna delle Grazie in Matera.

With 88 recoveries recorded yesterday, the number of Lucanians currently positive is 3,962 (3,789 in home isolation).

In total, 13,005 people have been cured from Basilicata.

Since the beginning of the epidemic in Basilicata, 263,963 molecular swabs have been analyzed, 243,732 of which were negative and 160,279 people were tested.

PUGLIA

- Out of 12,471 tests for Covid-19 infection, 34 deaths and 1,734 positive cases were recorded, with a positive rate of 13.9% (yesterday 10.3%).

The new infected are distributed as follows: 570 in the province of Bari, 136 in the province of Brindisi, 118 in the province of BAT, 307 in the province of Foggia, 247 in the province of Lecce, 355 in the province of Taranto, 5 cases of residents outside the region.

Four cases of unknown province of residence were reclassified and attributed.

The 34 deaths are distributed as follows: 12 in the province of Bari, 2 in the province of Brindisi, 4 in the province of BAT, 7 in the province of Foggia, 6 in the province of Lecce, 3 in the province of Taranto.

There are currently 39,818 positive cases.

CALABRIA

- The new Covid 19 positives in Calabria return to decline, stopping at 216, after yesterday's increase when 311 were recorded, with 3,110 tests performed on 2,924 subjects.

However, the increase in hospitalizations in care departments does not stop, six more (283) and the wake of deaths is also lengthening: six victims which bring the total from the beginning of the pandemic to 746. total number of people admitted to intensive care (28) and the number of isolates at home (7,483) and 150 healed (33,385) increased by 55.

The active cases are 7,794 and those closed 34,131. In Calabria to date 590,565 subjects have been subjected to tests for a total of 627,062 swabs performed.

The people who tested positive for Coronavirus are 41,925, those negative 548,640.

SICILY -

 There are 782 new positives at Covid19 in Sicily out of 26,527 swabs processed, with an incidence of positives of almost 2.9%, an increase compared to yesterday.

The region is eleventh in the infection according to today's bulletin of the Ministry of Health.

The victims have been 12 in the last 24 hours and bring the total to 4,383.

The number of current positives is 14,965, an increase of 189 cases compared to yesterday;

the healed are 581. In the hospitals there are 850 hospitalized;

12 more than yesterday, those in intensive care are 116, 3 more.

The distribution in the provinces sees Palermo with 352 cases, Catania 166, Agrigento 35, Messina 25, Caltanissetta 35, Siracusa 65, Ragusa 42, Trapani 16, Enna 46.

SARDINIA -

 The total number of Covid-19 positive cases ascertained in Sardinia since the beginning of the emergency rose to 42,724: 92 new cases were detected in the latest update of the Regional Crisis Unit.

A total of 886,127 swabs were performed, for an overall increase of 12,190 tests compared to the previous figure.

The positive cases-swabs performed ratio therefore marks a positivity rate of 0.7%.

There are also two new deaths (1,200 in all).

On the other hand, 163 patients are currently hospitalized in non-intensive wards (-9), while 29 patients remain in intensive care.

There are 12,627 people in home isolation.

The healed are a total of 28,520 (+87), while the people declared clinically cured on the island are currently 185. On the territory, of the 42,724 positive cases ascertained overall, 10,484 (+23) were detected in the Metropolitan City of Cagliari, 6,791 (+ 7) in Southern Sardinia, 3,534 (+7) in Oristano, 8,424 (+22) in Nuoro, 13,491 (+33) in Sassari.
