(ANSA) - ROME, MARCH 17 - "We are what we are and no one will change" has been their mantra so far.
Strengthened by this, iManeskin brought rock to Sanremo with the song Zitti e Buoni (already discod'oro and 18 million streaming) and won.
Now they are ready to land at the Eurovision Song Contest, which however - by regulation - is a bit more bigoted than our local festival and does not accept swear words in the lyrics, so much so as to force the band to self-censor to perform in Rotterdam.
"We are rebels, not stupid - sums up Damiano, the group's frontman with a smile -. We didn't like having to change the text, but there is a common sense".
The Maneskin, having sobered up from Sanremo, are ready to present their new recording project, two years after their debut with Il ballo della vita: Teatro d'ira - Vol.I, the first part of a larger project, all recorded in presadiretta at the Mulino Recording Studio of Acquapendente (VT) to recreate the live dimension.
"The title - explain the four young artists - refers to a cathartic anger, our anger transformed into something positive, which leads to change things".
A record, they reiterate, "all played, raw, contemporary that represents us today".
And peace, if some rock purist turns up their mouths.
"We are not Led Zeppelin - attacks Damiano -, but you have to become Led Zeppelin, give us time.
In the meantime, we sleep peacefully".
The Maneskin have also announced their first neipalasport tour: starting on December 14th from Rome with a double date already sold out, as well as the next two in Milan (December 18th and 19th).
The tour then continues seven other dates to end on April 23, 2022 at the Verona Arena.
