Can a corona vaccine put an end to the persistent and bothersome symptoms of persistent Cubid?

In the US, a case was reported of a woman who for months after she fell ill with Corona and recovered and continued to suffer from post-Corona symptoms. However, 36 hours after receiving the second dose of Corona vaccine, her symptoms disappeared, the Washington Post reports.

34-year-old Ariana Eisenberg said For the eight months after she contracted Covid-19 she continued to suffer from muscle aches, extreme fatigue, insomnia and haze - all symptoms that have become associated with what is known as Long Covid or persistent Covid, and a significant number of recoverers around the world face them weeks and months Officially recovered from the disease.

Eisenberg is not the only one, recently as the worldwide vaccination campaign expands and more people get vaccinated - especially in the US which also vaccinates recovering people, there are also reports of recovering patients experiencing a benefit in their symptoms after receiving the vaccine doses.

As vaccination campaigns around the world expand, so do reports of improvement in the condition of vaccinated recoverers.

Dr. Daniel Griffith, a doctor who specializes in infectious diseases and is a researcher at Columbia University, said earlier this month in an interview with The Verge that about a third of his patients reported feeling better after being vaccinated.

Similar figures come from an independent journalistic survey of 473 recovering people from Covid. Long, he located them and contacted them through support groups set up on Facebook for recovering patients who also suffered from symptoms months after recovery. This survey also shows that about a third of them reported improvement in symptoms after receiving the vaccine.

And what about real academic research?

There are not many yet, mainly because it has not been long enough since vaccinations began in European countries and the United States. But one relatively small study, conducted at the University of Bristol in the UK, sought to examine exactly this question Against the virus?

Real effect of the vaccine on the body, or a placebo effect?

In this study, which has not yet been peer-reviewed, the researchers gave the vaccine to 44 experimenters who suffered from a long cob.

They found that those who received the vaccine experienced a slight overall improvement in persistent symptoms.

However, the researchers also noted in their article that this effect may be due to the placebo effect and not to a direct effect of the vaccine itself.

At this point it seems that the question of the effectiveness of vaccines in relieving or eliminating the persistent symptoms is simply another of the question marks hovering around this phenomenon.

Another question mark concerns the gender influences that may have been involved in the development of a long cobid in the first place - many of those reporting this phenomenon are women.

One of the explanations put forward by scientists in this regard is that women, in general, tend to develop stronger immune responses than men.
