Rainier has announced a new route that will connect Tel Aviv to the Greek island of Santorini, as part of its flight schedule for this coming summer.

The new line will be launched on July 3 and will operate twice a week, and will end on October 30, so the company intends to include the Tishrei holiday of Israelis as well.

Flights will operate on Tuesdays and Saturdays from both destinations.

"Israeli consumers can now book a summer getaway, fly at the lowest prices and with the option to take advantage of Rainier's zero change fees in the event of a change in plans," said Rainier's Commerce Director Jason McGuinness.

In a check we did today (Thursday) on the company's website, we found very discounted tickets.

For example, a flight to Santorini on July 13 will cost 29 euros one way, while the return will cost a person 34 euros, and a total of 63 euros round trip.

The same is also true: some prices are higher, but it is only 20-10 euros, depending on the date.

As restrictions on the Corona plague change from time to time, the Irish low-cost carrier will allow its passengers to change flight dates twice free of charge on all bookings on the new routes until 31 October.

Meanwhile, the Hungarian low-cost carrier, Visair, announced the opening of a line from Tel Aviv to the Greek island of Mykonos on June 11 this year.

The destination joins other routes in Greece - Rhodes, Crete and Santorini - which the company has announced will fly from June this year.

Visair will operate two weekly flights (Mondays and Fridays) to Mykonos at a price starting at NIS 199.

About 700,000 Israelis are expected this summer

Aviation and tourism expert Yossi Fischer explains that it is estimated that Greece will receive 700,000-600,000 Israelis this summer.

"This is an insane amount of flights to the nearest country, and the Greeks are starting the first flights to Israel as early as April 15 as a pilot before the general opening on May 1. For them, Israel is the main destination in the upcoming tourist season. It all depends on Corona, of course."

Fischer adds that the added value left by Israeli tourists in Greece is several times greater than the added value of the Germans, English and Russians.

"The Israelis go out, eat in restaurants, drink in bars and shop," he adds. "The others concentrate on hotels and find almost no money beyond all-inclusive packages." The vast majority of the population is still unvaccinated.

It is better for them to fly out of here, "he says.

Rainier has opened the sale of tickets for the Tel Aviv-Santorini line at a low price on its website, which will be beautiful until midnight on Sunday, March 21.
