Having discovered the English variant in a cat, it is the first case

First case, in Italy, of an English variant in a cat.

This was discovered by the Experimental Zooprophylactic Institute of Piedmont, Liguria and Valle d'Aosta on an 8-year-old male feline living in the Novara area in a domestic context.

Respiratory symptoms in the cat appeared about ten days after the onset of the disease and the home isolation of its owners.

"This diagnosis and the identification of the English variant - declares the director of the Institute, Angelo Ferrari - demonstrate how effective the control system and the integrated management of the pandemic are and ready to act promptly".
