Claudio Ibraim Vaz Leal, in football terms Branco, 56 year old former left back of Brescia and Genoa and world champion with Brazil in USA '94, is hospitalized in intensive care, where he was intubated, in a hospital in the south of Rio, the Copa Star.
This was announced by the Brazilian football federation, for which Branco works as coordinator of the national youth teams.
The former Genoan, after contracting Covid, was hospitalized three days ago "with a serious picture of lung infection".
The worsening of his condition has now made it necessary to resort to "artificial ventilation devices".
He is currently sedated, and "there are no predictions on when he will be able to breathe again on his own."
