The Minister of Health, Carla Vizzotti, provided details on Friday about what the future actions will be to try to contain now the second wave of the coronavirus and the new strains of the disease,

and confirmed that it is unknown when the next doses of Sinopharm will arrive.

"

The vaccines are in China.

The announcement was that the contract was signed, that beyond the million doses received, there are three million more," he said and assured that work is being done to specify "the transfer of the vaccines as soon as possible. ".

In addition, he remarked that "it is not only the signing of the contract and waiting for the vaccines, but a process between the signing, the authorizations of the chancellery, the flights, etc."

"We are working for that to be as soon as possible. When we have the date and the confirmation, we will announce it," he limited himself to indicating.

The national official led a press conference at the Casa Rosada, in which there was no specific announcement, which also took the opportunity to send a photo: of her with her peers from the City of Buenos Aires, Fernán Quirós, and of the province of Buenos Aires, Daniel Gollan.

"

In our country we are beginning to see, in almost all jurisdictions, an increasing trend in the number of cases,

" he remarked.

Before that, Vizzotti communicated with the health ministers of all jurisdictions to review the state of the coronavirus situation in the country and coordinate the next official actions to contain infections and prevent deaths.

Before participating in that conclave, which took place at the Casa Rosada Bicentennial Museum, Gollan said that the dissemination of the new strains is "extremely high" and called for the implementation of actions aimed at "preventing those who are leaving (the country ) bring the new variant ".

This Friday the Aerolineas Argentinas plane returned to the country with a new batch of 330,000 doses of Sputnik V.

In this way, the country has already received a total of 4,380,540 vaccines, including the Russian, the Chinese Sinopharm and the Covishield, produced by the Serum Institute of India with technology from Oxford and AstraZeneca.

However, the national government recognizes that the vaccination campaign is below the rate initially set.

President Alber to Fernández himself referred to this situation and linked it to the "global delay in the delivery of vaccines" due to "production, logistical and input problems, given an absolutely exceptional complexity."

"Our suppliers have had difficulties to scale production and have not been able to deliver in the time they had planned; and the truth is that even the richest countries have had negotiations and tensions with suppliers," said the head of state on Thursday, when speaking on national chain.

He calculated that

the doses received represent 6% of those contracted.

Vizzotti's meeting with the provincial ministers comes after President Fernández held a videoconference with the governors on Thursday, with whom - as explained - he agreed on the need to discourage Argentine travel abroad.

The provincial leaders asked to "increase and strengthen" cargo transport controls, and agreed that they will hold a meeting in the coming days with the Minister of Transport, Mario Meoni, to "analyze measures."

At night, hours after that meeting, the President issued a message on the national radio and television network, on which occasion he

called for "extreme" care against the coronavirus,

warned that the pandemic "did not end" and said that, If society complies with health precautions, the "impact of the second wave will be as less damaging as possible."

"We need a lot of prevention and a lot of individual and collective responsibility. The pandemic has not ended. We must take extreme precautions so that Covid 19 does not isolate us again," said the president in a message issued last night on the national chain.
