A general high risk level continues to be observed: ten Regions (same number as in the previous week) have a high risk level.

The other 11 Regions / PPAAs have a moderate risk classification (seven of which are highly likely to progress to high risk in the coming weeks).

This is evidenced by the draft of weekly monitoring Iss-Ministry of Health.

Sixteen Regions / PPAAs have a punctual Rt greater than one.

Among these, one Region (Campania) has an Rt with a lower limit greater than 1.5 compatible with a type 4 scenario, and two (Piedmont and FVG) have an Rt with a lower limit greater than 1.25, compatible with a type 3 scenario. Twelve Regions have a Rt in the lower limit compatible with a type 2 scenario. The other Regions / PPAA have a Rt compatible with a type one scenario.

All but six Regions / PPAAs reported resilience alerts.

Two of these (Campania and Veneto) report multiple signs of resilience alerts.

It is necessary to continue to maintain "rigorous national mitigation measures", in the light of the "high incidence, the increase in transmissibility and the heavy overload of hospital services".

This was stated by the Istituto Superiore di Sanità (Iss) in the draft of the weekly monitoring.

In addition to measures at national level, "specific mitigation / containment interventions in the most widespread areas" are necessary.

The increase in cases due to variants of the SarsCoV2 virus requires the reduction of physical interactions and mobility and generally avoiding all unnecessary contacts outside the home.

The National Institute of Health (Iss) notes this in the weekly monitoring.

"In light of the sustained increase in the prevalence of some viral variants with greater transmissibility", the ISS invites "to maintain the drastic reduction of physical interactions between people and mobility.

The employment rate in medical areas nationwide has reached the critical threshold (40%) with a sharp increase in the number of people hospitalized in these areas: from 22,393 (09/03/2021) to 26,098 (16/03/2021) .

This is evidenced by the draft monitoring on the occupancy rate of hospital wards.

The national RT remains steady at 1.16, the same value as last week.

It is when it would be indicated, according to what is learned in the Iss-Ministry of Health monitoring weeks.

In the period February 24 - March 09 2021, the mean Rt calculated on symptomatic cases was equal to 1.16 (range 1.02 - 1.26), confirms a note from the ISS, "always above one in the whole range ".
