The beginning of spring is tough.
According to the calendar, the warmer season begins this Saturday, but the weather does not stick to it, as the German Weather Service (DWD) announced.
The fault is the "Margarethe" high pressure area, which has established itself over Great Britain and feels quite comfortable there, as meteorologist Markus Übel explained.
"This high position is rather unfavorable for spring fans." The high point will not shift its focus to Central Europe until next week, according to evil.
"This puts an end to the inconsistent weather and the sun comes into play more often."
According to the forecast, it will mostly stay dry on Saturday.
In the middle of Germany the day starts quite nicely, but also in the south the gaps in the clouds get bigger during the day.
At the North Sea it can rain a little in the afternoon and evening.
"The temperatures are still not really coming out of the quark and remain at one to eight degrees in late winter, in the southern foothills of the Alps and at high altitudes it even remains permafrost," said Übel.
»No spring feeling«
On Sunday, rain and snow will gradually shift to the south, according to the DWD, and the sun will come out in the north.
There and in the west it will probably be a little milder, sometimes with maximum values of ten degrees.
"However, there is no spring feeling when there is a brisk north-westerly wind," says Übel.
In the south-east, with less wind, it is likely to remain cool in late winter.
Even on Monday, the weather will probably not change much.
“Still some snow in the Alps, otherwise hardly any precipitation, but the handbrake is still on when the maximum values are reached,” is how Übel summarized the forecast.
But then there is hope: In the course of the coming week, according to the DWD, the signs are increasingly pointing to spring.
