About 1500 students sit for the standardized architecture examination

Today, about 1500 students from Syrian universities (governmental and private) and non-Syrian are applying for the first session of the Unified Architecture Exam, the March 2021 session.

Dr. Maysoon Deshash, Director General of the Center for Measurement and Evaluation at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, explained to SANA that the session was held in five examination centers within the universities of Damascus, Aleppo, Tishreen, Al-Baath and Hama, and included a practical examination in the field of architectural design for which 75 marks were allocated for a period of four hours.

The students will sit for the second session of the exam next Saturday 27-3-2021, and it includes a one-hour written exam for which 100 marks are allocated from the multiple-choice question model according to the National Academic Reference Standards (NARS) and deals with the axes of history and theories of architecture, planning, construction science, implementation and architectural design. In addition to a practical exam in the field of city planning for a period of two and a half hours, 25 points are assigned to it that investigate the level of knowledge and understanding of the student and his ability to analyze and solve issues in the field of architecture.

The success of the student from public and private universities and obtaining a mark of 50 percent is a condition for graduation, and the student benefits from the examination aid by only two marks. The student’s success and obtaining a score of 60 percent is a condition for applying for preference for higher studies.
