(ANSA) - ROME, MARCH 20 - The effects of the large active disturbance on most of Europe continue, which will cause bad weather in central-southern Italy tomorrow, with rains and thunderstorms in the south and snow on the southern hilly areas.
On the basis of the available forecasts, the Department of Civil Protection has assessed for tomorrow an orange alert on part of Sicily and a yellow alert on the remaining sectors of the island, as well as in Basilicata, Calabria and in the Lower Fortore in Puglia.
The notice foresees from late evening today strong aburras winds from the northern quadrants on Sicily, eastern species sector, and on Calabria and Basilicata, ionic species, in extension to Puglia, especially southern sectors.

The alert also anticipates the persistence of scattered precipitations, also of a reverse or thunderstorm character, on Sicily and Calabria, in extension to Puglia, especially southern sectors.
The phenomena will be accompanied by strong showers, frequent electrical activity and strong gusts of wind.
Finally, snowfalls are expected to persist above 800-1000 m in central-northern Calabria, with moderate contributions to the ground, up to abundant at higher altitudes.
