With the arrival of spring, the free streaming of Riccardo Muti's tour with the Luigi Cherubini Youth Orchestra opens: from 11 on Sunday 21 March, 'Dedicato a Bergamo', the concert donated by BPER Banca to the city, a message will be available of rebirth - one year after the first lockdown - for one of the territories that suffered the most.
The first of the three appointments of this Italian tour organized by Ravenna Festival, the concert at the Donizetti Theater will be hosted on the bper.it website until May 20 and will open with the performance of the Sinfonia dal Don Pasquale, in homage to the composer from Bergamo.
The program is completed with Beethoven's Eroica, a solemn and moving celebration of the ideals of equality, freedom and fraternity.
In collaboration with RMMUSIC, the event will also be broadcast on ANSA.it, thanks to the partnership with the agency as part of the 'Ansa per la Cultura' project, and on ravennafestival.live.
"It was a duty to be present here with the Heroic Symphony that we have always performed in places that have gone through dramatic situations. This is a highly musical city: it was the birthplace of Donizetti, Maestro Gavazzeni ... and it is also the city where I directed for the first time in 1966 ": this is how Riccardo Muti underlined the importance of leaving Bergamo for the tour that will cross the peninsula from north to south, a mission for culture and music to help keep open, at least virtually , the doors of Italian theaters.
For Donizetti it is also the first concert after the conclusion of the restoration works that have restored the historic theater to its full splendor.
From Friday 26 March the streaming of the concert at the Mercadante Theater in Naples will be available and the one at the Massimo Theater in Palermo from Sunday 28.
