"It was a duty to be present here with the Heroic Symphony that we have always performed in places that have experienced dramatic situations. This is a highly musical city: it was the birthplace of Donizetti, Maestro Gavazzeni ... and it is also the city where I directed the first time in 1966 ": this is how Riccardo Muti underlined the importance of leaving Bergamo for the tour that will cross the peninsula from north to south, a mission for culture and music to help keep open, at least virtually, the doors of Italian theaters.
For Donizetti it is also the first concert after the conclusion of the restoration works that have restored the historic theater to its full splendor.
From Friday 26 March the streaming of the concert at the Mercadante Theater in Naples will be available and from Sunday 28 the one at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo also on Ansa.it.
