Tokyo 2020: stop in the presence of foreign spectators

(ANSA) - TOKYO, 20 MAR - No foreign tourist will be able to travel to Japan during the Olympics due to the health emergency caused by the coronavirus.

This was decided in two separate meetings by the group composed of the president of the organizing committee, Seiko Hashimoto, the sports director representing the government, Tamayo Marukawa, and the governor of Tokyo, Yuriko Koike;

and later, in an online link, together with the President of the Olympic Committee (CIO), Thomas Bach, and of the Paralympic Committee (Ipc), Andrew Parsons.
