"Giving value to water" the digital Talk of Earth Day Italia for World Water Day 2021 Monday 22 March from 17:00, to celebrate World Water Day, Earth Day Italia proposes the Digital Talk "Giving value to water ”, created with the patronage of the Ministry of Ecological Transition, the scientific support of Genius Watter.
The debate, moderated by the journalist Marco Gisotti, will frame the water issue from different angles, from water wars to space research, from water infrastructures to desalination technologies.
To open the talk Max Paiella with a performance that, between humor and music, will read the themes of the day in an ironic and provocative key, launching together with the President of Earth Day Italia Pierluigi Sassi, the multimedia marathon #OnePeopleOnePlanet which on April 22 will celebrate the World Earth Day with the media partnership of Ansa.
Eleonora Ammannito, project scientist of the Italian Space Agency ASI will make a point on the research of water resources on other planets.
Emanuele Bompan, journalist, vice president of the Water Grabbing Observatory and author of the book “Water grabbing.
Hidden wars for water in the 21st century ”, will tell through images some international scenarios of conflicts related to water.
For the MITE, Barbara Burzotta, director of the SUA Section Division V “Water as a common good” will be connected.
Among the speakers also Emilio Ciarlo, head of external, institutional, international relations and communication of the AICS Italian Agency for Development Cooperation;
Simone Garroni, general manager of Action Against Hunger;
Luca Masi, coordinator of the Technical Scientific Committee for Europe and ANCI Lazio.
On the subject of innovation Franco and Dario Traverso, co-founders of the Venetian startup Genius Watter active in the creation of solar-powered desalination plants, will give an example of how technology can contribute to the sustainable management of water and the solution of water supply problems in the countries with greatest need.
