The "Game of Thrones" universe by George RR Martin offers the opportunity to tell countless stories.
HBO should therefore work on seven spin-offs.
In addition to the "Song of Ice and Fire" saga, author George RR Martin has published other books that are set in Westeros.
So after the success of Game of Thrones, it's hardly surprising that HBO is using these templates.
However, there shouldn't be just one or two spin-offs.
According to inside information, the station is currently considering
seven different prequels
.
If all of them are implemented, the "Game of Thrones" universe includes even more series than the world of "The Walking Dead".
At the moment there are “only” three different zombie productions.
"Game of Thrones": Information on four spin-offs known for several months
The planned spin-off "House of the Dragon" * is the furthest advanced.
This is expected to start in 2022.
In addition,
Variety
learned in
early 2021 that Martin's story "Tales of Dunk and Egg" could receive a series adaptation.
The magazine also reported on an
animated series
, the plot of which is not yet known.
According to
inside information from
Entertainment Weekly
, HBO is also considering
prequelling
the story of
Robert Baratheon's Rebellion

"Game of Thrones": HBO is to plan three more series
Deadline
tops all of this with new information:
three more spin-offs
are to be discussed.
We are talking about a series with the working title
“9 Voyages”
or
“Sea Snake”
.
Insiders told the magazine that a team of screenwriters is already working on the story.
The focus of the plot is likely to be the character Corlys Velaryon, who travels countless cities outside of Westeros with his ship.
Other planned projects are titled
“Flea Bottom”
and
“10,000 Ships”
.
The first series could be named after the slums of the city of King's Landing, while the second series may be about Princess Nymeria's Escape from Essos to Drone, which took place thousands of years before the main series took place.
According to the
deadline
, there is no permanent team
working on these two productions
yet.
Presumably, HBO is only just surviving whether a serial implementation of the stories is worthwhile at all.
With regard to all of the spin-offs mentioned, it should be noted that the makers
have not yet officially confirmed them
.
Whether they will actually be implemented is still in the stars.
The only exception is
"House of the Dragon"
.
Most recently, HBO announced the cast of the series.
