Two Daimler engineers have landed one of the coveted jobs in the new Tesla Gigafactory in Grünheide.

One question was the main focus of your application.

Applicants from all over Germany are vying for a job at the electric car manufacturer

Tesla

.

Although his boss Elon Musk, who has just given himself a new job title *, is not exactly known in the USA as a fair employer, it still drives many Germans to the US company in Brandenburg.

But how does the application process work?

And how do you manage to get an employment contract at Tesla?

This is how the application process works

Two former Daimler engineers report in BusinessInsider magazine on

four to six job interviews

, each supposed to last 30 minutes.

At the beginning, the applicants introduce themselves in five minutes, then questions from the interview partner are answered.

One question keeps popping up on a topic that apparently is particularly important to Tesla: “During the interview, they check

whether the applicant's mindset matches Tesla.

The lady didn't ask me about academic achievements or degrees.

She wanted to know why I actually want to go to Tesla.

Which is the

identification with the brand

wants and mission tremendously important, "says one of the engineers who prefers to remain anonymous.

And a second question comes up again and again in all interviews:

which professional achievement or project the applicant is particularly proud of

- and why.

According to the report, the job interviews are conducted by employees in different positions: from department employees to US managers to HR employees from Grünheide.

Salary and bonuses: that's what Tesla offers

When it comes to salaries, some high-ranking engineers may have to swallow, because Tesla is not supposed to pay Christmas or vacation pay.

In return, both engineers report on a

generous share package in the five-digit amount

, which the employees can freely dispose of after four years of service with the company.

One of the engineers is said to have been offered gross subsidies for retirement provisions and for a public transport ticket.

In addition,

performance-based bonuses are to be waved

from the team leader positions

, the report continues.

When it comes to exact salary figures, both engineers keep a

low profile

, after all, both would have signed a

"non-disclosure agreement"

that they are forced to keep silent about third parties.

One reveals that he would have earned four times as much at Daimler.

The other is more specific: his

annual salary is between 100,000 and 120,000 euros

.
