The plot sounds adventurous - in a double sense: David Hasselhoff struggles with himself and finally wants to shine in public again.

The offer from a theater in Germany comes in handy.

But the supposed scene theater from East Berlin turns out to be more of a tranquil theater very far to the east.

Then he slips into an international agent conspiracy - and what does his new acting colleague Henry Hübchen have to do with it?

The TV broadcaster RTL roughly summarizes the plot of a new series project that it commissioned for its streaming service TV Now.

"Ze Network" is announced as a "black humor agent thriller", which of course attracts special attention through its two stars in the lead roles, who play themselves: David Hasselhoff, 68, and Henry Hübchen, 74. Filming is expected to start in summer 2021.

Hasselhoff is also involved as an executive producer.

The series is produced by Syrreal Entertainment for TV Now and the US studio CBS International.

Director Christian Alvart is involved in the production company Syrreal ("Dogs of Berlin" and Til Schweiger "Tatort" episodes).

According to the press release, Alvart said he could "hardly wait to share with Henry Huebchen and the audience the crazy ride that Mr. Hasselhoff will take on Ze Dschermans."
