(ANSA) - ROME, MARCH 23 - The Australian authorities have launched weather warnings in all states or territories of the country except one, warning about 10 million inhabitants - equal to 40% of the population of 25 million inhabitants - for an area with an area equivalent to that of Alaska.
According to reports from CNN, in the last few hours new evacuation orders have been issued while torrential rains continue to hit much of the country.
"The rain and flood situation remains dynamic and extremely complex," Prime Minister Scott Morris said at a press conference.
So far no victims have been reported, but yesterday about 18,000 people were evacuated from their homes and the authorities plan to evacuate another 15,000 short-term ones.
