(ANSA) - ROME, MARCH 23 - There is a real boom in offers of vaccines, fake vaccination passports and false certificates of negative anti Covid tests on the darknet, that part of the internet accessible only through special search engines.
According to reports from the BBC, prices range from $ 500 to $ 750 for AstraZeneca, Sputnik, Sinopharm and Johnson & Johnson vaccines, while fake Covid test certificates can be purchased for as little as $ 150.
Researchers at Check Point, a company specializing in online security, have found a "strong increase" since the beginning of the year in advertisements related to anti Covid vaccines.
For its part, the BBC points out that it has not been able to determine whether these vaccines are authentic or less.
According to the researchers, within a few months the number of these ads tripled to over 1,200.
Sellers say they are located in the United States, Spain, Germany, France and Russia: the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine is offered for $ 500, Johnson & Johnson and Sputnik's for $ 600 each, while China's Sinopharm is for $ 750.
There is also no shortage of 'Get three, pay two' offers for fake anti-Covid test certificates, promises to deliver vaccines in 24 hours and fake vaccine passports worth 150 dollars in Bitcoin.
