ANDERMATT - Double appreciation of the prestigious gastronomic guide for Andermatt, a famous winter sports resort in the heart of the Swiss Alps: two Michelin stars for Gütsch by Markus Neff and The Japanese by The Chedi.

The award ceremony to the clubs, the highest in the country at 2,300 meters above sea level with a view of the Gotthard and Oberalp passes, confers Andermatt the title of "mecca for mountain gourmets".

Not only skiing and nature walks for the Swiss village, then, but also tastings and a refined gastronomy to be discovered.

The Japanese restaurant, located inside The Chedi Andermatt hotel, already had a Michelin star since 2017;

this latter assignment gives it greater prestige and quality.

Among the refined dishes offered by the restaurant, led by chef Dietmar Sawyere, stand out the Shidashi bentō, the omakase and kaiseki menus and the sushi and tempura specialties.

A completely different gastronomic experience is the one offered by the Gütsch by Markus Neff restaurant: the creations of the chef and his team are simple and refined, conceived with respect and love for local products.

Both restaurants, surrounded by the most beautiful and impressive mountains of the Alps, are located on the slopes of the Andermatt-Sedrun-Disentis area and can be easily reached with the Andermatt-Guetsch cable car.

For Switzerland the surprises - and the awards - do not end there: other restaurants have received the prestigious Michelin stars, despite the period of crisis and difficulty that everyone is experiencing.

In fact, in the Swiss gastronomic panorama, 4 new establishments have been awarded 2 Michelin stars, thus bringing to 24 the number of starred addresses that deserve to be discovered.

The 4 restaurants are the Cà d'Oro of St. Moriz of the Kempinski Grand Hôtel des Bains, where the chef Matthias Schmidberger offers a tasty and refined cuisine with Mediterranean influences;

Magdalena di Schwyz, in the kitchen of which chef Dominik Hartmann creates dishes that focus above all on vegetables;

the Sens restaurant in Vitznau, in the Vitznauerhof hotel, led by the creative flair of the Dutch chef Jeroen Achtien, and the Widder Restaurant in Zurich with chef Stefan Heilemann and his cuisine of the highest level.

In addition to the addresses in Andermatt, 14 other Swiss restaurants have obtained their first Michelin star, increasing the number of places with this recognition to 95: from Zurich to Lugano, from St. Moritz to Bad Ragaz and Lausanne.

The starred restaurants in Zurich are Sushi Shin, for lovers of Japanese cuisine offered by the omakase menu created by chef Kenichi Arimura;

Neue Taverne with vegetarian-inspired dishes;

Igniv Zürich by Andreas Caminada, the chef's third place after the starred ones in St. Moritz and Bad Ragaz;

and La Rôtisserie inside the Hotel Storchen.

In Lugano the addresses that have conquered the stars are I Due Sud in the Hotel Splendid Royal, Meta and Principe Leopoldo, in the hotel of the same name.

In Bad Ragaz the Verve by Sven restaurant, inside the Hotel Grand Resort, wins its first star, while Memories and Igniv Zürich by Andreas Caminada confirm the awards.

The other restaurants are the Alpenblick-Stuba in Adelboden, La Table du Lausanne Palace in Lausanne, UniQuisine Atelier in Stansstad, The Nucleus in Wolhusen, Les Ateliers in Vevey and The K by Mauro Colagreco in St. Moritz.

Furthermore, for the first time, 9 Swiss restaurants have been awarded the innovative "Michelin green stars", which reward establishments committed to eco-sustainable gastronomy and a green approach, that is, which pay attention to the origin of the products, with respect to seasonality. of ingredients and commitment to waste management.

Finally, there is a final award ceremony involving 15 new restaurants that enter the ranking of 140 Bib Gourmand, that is, among those places that offer a complete gourmet menu for a maximum amount of 70 Swiss francs, around 63 euros.
