Police shot a man in a single-family home in Baden-Württemberg.
The 24-year-old attacked the officials with a machete, said a police spokesman on Tuesday.

Accordingly, firearms were used on Monday evening.
The man was admitted to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
He is said to have previously threatened three family members and one other person with a knife in the house in Bretzfeld near Heilbronn.
According to the information, a family member was injured.
The perpetrator was apparently drunk
When the police arrived, the 24-year-old had holed up with the machete in a room.
Meanwhile, several police officers were able to take the family members to safety.
The apparently drunk man rioted in his room and made massive threats.
The request to put down the machete, he did not comply.
Instead, after leaving the room in the hallway, he reached out to strike with the cutting weapon.
The officers therefore made use of the firearm to ward off an attack.
The police headquarters in Ludwigsburg were responsible for the mandatory checks as to whether the use of firearms was justified by the police officers, it said.
The exact background of the act would still have to be determined.
