A chemistry teacher at a school in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania unintentionally arranged for a fire brigade to be deployed.
According to the police, the pedagogue in Pasewalk triggered an explosion on Monday afternoon with an experiment that also caused smoke to rise.
The problem: The teacher had forgotten to turn on the smoke extraction system, which caused a fire alarm to sound, the police said.
According to the information, the fire brigade was after a short time with twelve emergency services and four fire engines, an ambulance and the police at the door.
The teacher and a colleague had to flee briefly from the smoke, but after airing the school was again accessible, it said.
Students were no longer in the building at the time of the experiment that was carried out in preparation for the lesson.
