»Tagesschau« retiree Hofer: return to the news business

Jan Hofer, long-time chief spokesman for the »Tagesschau«, plans to return to the news business.
According to RTL, the 69-year-old is to become the anchorman of a new weekly news program on RTL's main evening program.
The Cologne broadcaster announced this on Wednesday afternoon.
RTL is expanding its news offering, it said in the message.
The current news program "RTL Aktuell" is referred to as the "flagship" and is apparently to be retained.
The new format is currently being developed under the responsibility of Gerhard Kohlenbach, editor-in-chief of news at RTL News.
Further details would be announced in the summer.

Most recently, Jan Hofer had already shown himself in the RTL program: He danced as a candidate on the show "Let's Dance".
