(ANSA) - ROME, MARCH 25 - A Dutch travel agency will take nearly 200 people on an eight-day vacation to Greece to see if tourism is feasible during the pandemic.

The selected - reports the BBC - will receive an all-inclusive service on the island of Rhodes at about 400 pounds per person, but with some limitations.

They will not be able to leave the resort and will have to remain in quarantine for 10 days when they return home.

At least 25,000 people signed up for the experiment supported by the government, which continues to advise against unnecessary travel abroad at least until mid-May.

In the Netherlands there is no shortage of doubts about this operation, in a phase in which the rate of infections and hospitalizations are increasing.

At the same time, given the growing pressure of public opinion to allow summer holidays, tests like this could help determine if there is a safe way to travel.

The Sunweb company will offer 187 tickets for people between the ages of 18 and 70.

The chosen ones will do the testanti-Covid before and after the trip.

If someone becomes infected during the holiday they will have to quarantine themselves in a special hotel, but the costs will be covered by the agency.

During your stay in the resort in Rhodes, there will be only group tourists and staff.

They will be able to use the swimming pools and restaurants but they will not be able to go to the beach.
