On leaving the Council of Ministers, the government spokesperson announced that three departments, Nièvre, Rhône and Aube, were on borrowed time, their alarming health situation threatening to push them into new restrictions, such as 16 other areas concerned since March 20.
Olivier Véran, the Minister of Health confirmed this change to red and the implementation of reinforced surveillance measures for these new departments, this Thursday evening during a press conference.

The epidemic situation is not good.
The trend is almost everywhere to accelerate the epidemic ”, declared the minister, during this always eagerly awaited weekly update.
The incidence rate, that is to say the number of cases per 100,000 inhabitants over a week, exceeds the mark of 400 in the Rhône and the Aube.
It stands at more than 350 in the Nièvre but the progression in one week is particularly strong there, according to data from Public Health France.
On Wednesday, the government spokesperson repeated that there would be "two weeks of heavy weather to come" and that "faced with the danger for the French as well as for our health system, we are acting by taking strong braking measures, demanding (...) and taking into account the disparities between the territories ”.
