At least 33 people were killed in a serious train accident in Egypt.
According to the Egyptian Ministry of Health, at least 66 people were injured in the collision of two trains in Sohag province.
According to Reuters news agency, the trains near the Nile city of Tahta did not appear to hit each other at high speed.
Nevertheless, two wagons were destroyed and a third derailed.
Emergency forces were on site with a large contingent.

According to the AP news agency, there are said to have been more than 1,700 train accidents in the country in 2017 alone, and many facilities are in poor condition.
