 Good first for Lorenzo Musetti at the Miami Open tournament, the first Masters 1000 of the season.

In the Italian night, the 19 year old Italian tennis talent, number 94 in the world, beat the American Michael Mmoh, n.181 in the ranking, 6-4 6-4 in an hour and 38 minutes of play.

In the second round Musetti will challenge the French Benoit Paire.

    It did not go well, however, for the other two Azzurri involved in the first round, Salvatore Caruso and Thomas Fabbiano were in fact both eliminated.

The former lost a surprise 6-3 6-4 against the Japanese Yasutaka Uchiyama, (102);

Fabbiano was instead defeated 7-6 1-6 6-3, after more than two and a half hours of fighting, by the Slovenian Aljaz Bedene, n.59 in the ranking.

    Today, directly in the second round, in the late Italian afternoon, Jannik Sinner will make his absolute debut in Miami, who will face the French Hugo Gaston (162), already beaten a couple of weeks ago in the second round in Marseille. Tomorrow instead the debut of Fabio Fognini, n. 17 of the world, against Sebastian Korda (87) and Lorenzo Sonego (34) against the American Bjorn Fratangelo, (233)
