The obligation to vaccinate against Covid 19
that the government is thinking about
would not concern all health personnel
but only those of them who work in contact with patients
.
Three ministries are working on the text, Justice, Health and Labor in addition to the presidency of the Council of Ministers.
In order to avoid the proliferation of disputes, under the decree that should make the vaccine mandatory for healthcare professionals in contact with patients, the hypothesis of a change of duties for those who continue to refuse the vaccine is being studied as an alternative to sanctions that are still being defined. It is for this reason that the Ministry of Labor is also involved in the drafting of the text, a decree according to what the Prime Minister Mario Draghi reported.
"The government - Prime Minister Draghi said during today's press conference - intends to intervene: it is not good for unvaccinated health workers to be in contact with the sick. Minister Cartabia is taking a measure in this regard".
The one on
unvaccinated
health workers
- the Minister of Health Speranza pointed out -
"is a rule under our scrutiny but we recognize that the support of health personnel has been very broad
, it is the vast majority and has set a good example. a very minimal piece, which we are quantifying, on which we evaluate an intervention with a standard ".
Health Minister Roberto Speranza said this at a press conference with Prime Minister Mario Draghi.
The decree with which the government is preparing to introduce the obligation of vaccination for healthcare personnel in contact with patients
has its framework in the judgments of the Constitutional Court
, which has repeatedly intervened in the field of vaccines.
One of the last sentences on the vaccination obligation is of 2018 and the rapporteur was the current Minister of Justice Marta Cartabia.
This is the sentence with which the Constitutional Court rejected all the issues raised by the Veneto Region against the obligation of vaccination for enrollment in school, reintroduced in 2017 by the law wanted by Minister Beatrice Lorenzin.
