About 1500 students from Syrian “governmental and private” and non-Syrian universities took the second session of the unified architectural engineering exam, “March 2021,” today.
Dr. Maysoon Dashash, Director General of the Center for Measurement and Evaluation at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, stated in a statement to SANA that the session was conducted in five examination centers within the universities of Damascus, Aleppo, Tishreen, Al-Baath and Hama and included a one-hour written exam for which 100 marks were allocated from the multiple-choice question model according to the reference standards. The National Academy “The Nars” dealt with the axes of history and theories of architecture, planning, construction sciences, implementation and architectural design, in addition to a practical exam in the field of city planning for a period of two and a half hours. 25 degrees were allocated to investigate the level of knowledge and understanding of the student and his ability to analyze and solve issues in the field of architecture.
The success of the student from public and private universities and obtaining a mark of 50 percent is a condition for graduation, and the student benefits from the examination aid by only two marks. The student’s success and obtaining a score of 60 percent is a condition for applying for preference for higher studies.
Last Saturday, the center held the first session of the exam, which included a four-hour practical examination in the field of architectural design, for which 75 marks were allocated.
