Intrigues and revenge behind perfect family pictures and sensational events: reality has long since surpassed fantasy when it comes to British royalty. (HANDLE)

(by Alessandra Magliaro) (ANSA) - ROME, MARCH 27 - Intrigues and revenge behind perfect family squares and sensational events: reality has long since surpassed fantasy when it comes to British royals.

The imagination of a writer or a TV showrunner struggles behind what actually happens: who of them would ever dare to write a scene in which the queen's nephew and his American commonwife scorned the Royal Family on TV giving them racists?

This is how cinema and TV series chase the facts, stage them without even needing to write them too much and the audience cheers and waits for them.

With this fascination for royals, the number of productions in the pipeline can also be explained: in short, there is a real market demand.

It starts with The Crown, the Netflix series mother of the whole filone.

At first it even seemed excessive all that tea-time gossip between HRH and unhappy sister Margaret and Princess Anne's hatred while a certain Diana Spencer arrived at court. Then, after Harry and Meghan's interview with Oprah Winfrey, those scenes from the fourth season of Peter Morgan's award-winning series looked quite plausible.

The story arrived with the fourth season in 1990 and on the fifth, preparations are underway for the broadcast hypothesized at the end of 2021 and the beginning of 2022 with a completely renewed cast: Imelda Staunton will take the place of the super-awarded Olivia Colman on the throne of England, the Australian Elizabeth Debicki will take the to play Diana Spencer, Dominic West will play Prince Charles in place of Josh O'Connor, Jonathan Pryce Duke of Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, there is excitement for Pablo Larrain's film 'Spencer', all centered on the real news story: December 1991: the wedding of the Prince and Princess of Wales has long since turned cold.

Although rumors of business and divorce abound, peace is ordered for the holiday season at Sandringham Estate.

"There is food and drink, shooting and hunting. Diana knows the game. Things will be very different this year."

It is the plot of the work ready for the next autumn or for the beginning of 2022, for the 25th of Diana's death.
