Unanimous condemnation by the international community which asked the military junta to stop the bloodbath.
Waving Burmese flags, hundreds of people took to the streets of Bago, northeast of Rangoon, and in the small town of Moe Kaung in the state of Kachin.
Today, many funerals for yesterday's victims are scheduled across the country.
"I see the palms today and I cannot but join mine, our cry of pain for the innocent victims of the bloody repression in Myanmar. Let the generals stop. Enough blood", wrote the secretary of the Democratic Party Enrico Letta on Twitter.
