The Minister of Education, Dr. Darem Tabaa, confirmed the continuation of the educational process while adhering to health precautionary measures to address the Coronavirus epidemic, pointing at the same time to concern for the safety of students and teachers.
Tabbah said in an interview with Al-Suriya TV Al-Laila, “The educational process continues as part of precautionary health measures in accordance with the health protocol followed to combat the epidemic, and if there is a need to close schools, nothing prevents that,” indicating that the situation in schools is under control in relation to the numbers of HIV infections in light of the measures that I have taken. Tabbah pointed to the concern for the safety of students, teachers and workers in the educational sector, indicating that the health personnel in the ministry are fully alerted to apply precautionary measures to address the epidemic, especially the distribution of sterilizers and following the sound health rules.
The Minister of Education said, “The spread of disease is confined to specific groups,” indicating that two days ago, the Ministry of Education sent teams from school health departments to schools to ensure that precautionary measures were implemented in them and are currently conducting training courses for health counselors in cooperation with the World Health Organization and the Ministry of Health to control disease. Tabbah added that the necessary educational media are available in all schools, indicating that the Ministry of Education is making all possible efforts to restore this institution to its glory after 10 years of the terrorist war on Syria, indicating that the priority now is to develop educational skills and mechanisms.
Tabaa pointed out that the Ministry of Education is following up the educational process with all its conditions, stressing at the same time that the ministry has a plan for vocational education to open two production lines, one for masks and the other for sterilizers, which will be put into service within less than a month.
