(ANSA) - MAPUTO, MARCH 28 - "Dozens of defenseless people" have been killed in the city of Palma, in northern Mozambique, in a series of coordinated attacks by jihadists over the past four days. This was announced by the spokesman for the Defense Ministry, Omar Saranga. Seven of the victims lost their lives in an ambush during an operation to evacuate about 180 people, including several foreigners who work for the French oil group Total, from a hotel in the city where they had found refuge. Following the attacks, Total announced yesterday the suspension of its operations in Mozambique. (HANDLE).
