About 75% of young people between 11 and 30 years of age declare themselves in favor of the anti-Covid vaccine, giving their willingness to undergo the administration. This was revealed by a survey carried out by the student portal Skuola.net together with the Department of Public Health and Infectious Diseases of the "Sapienza" University of Rome, conducted in recent weeks on a sample of 5,313 children. A convinced desire for vaccination is expressed by 54.6% of respondents; while another 19.8% declare that they tend to be in favor (although still expressing some doubts). 10.1%, on the other hand, at the moment leans towards 'no' but does not exclude that, in the future, they could change their minds. And 8.7% say they have not yet formed an opinion about it. In the end, therefore, just 6.7% show the absolute intention not to undergo the vaccine. To convince children to get vaccinated is, in the first place, the awareness of the gravity of the situation (38%), which in many cases they have been able to touch through the events of family and acquaintances. Immediately after comes the perception that the benefits produced by the various vaccines authorized up to now far outweigh the risks (23%). Many, however, would do it above all to have an extra guarantee that loved ones will not fall ill with Covid-19: to say it is 21.5% of those in favor. "Three quarters of young people would like to get vaccinated against Covid. And the percentage is close to 80% in the 11-17 age group. A result that highlights how much the issue of primary prevention through immunization also affects this segment of the population - underlines Professor Giuseppe La Torre of the Department of Public Health and Infectious Diseases of Sapienza - who particularly suffered from the effects of the lockdown, in terms of not attending school, reducing or canceling social relations ". "Priority is given to the most at-risk categories, to medical and health personnel and to school personnel, but think seriously about giving young people the opportunity to get vaccinated as soon as possible - says Daniele Grassucci, director of Skuola.net -. Our schools and universities have really been closed for too long, we risk creating a vacuum that can hardly be filled ".
