Especially this spring, it seems that all the people of Israel will frequent the same familiar hiking trails.

The combination of leaving long locksmiths along with the fact that Passover is the ultimate hiking holiday, means traffic jams.

Both on the road - and in the heart of nature.

The Hadassah Trail

What everyone is doing:

Hiking along the

springs in the Jerusalem mountains

What you are doing:

Hiking

around the Hadassah

The springs trail in the Aminadav destination is a beautiful space, which attracts many hikers.

But when everyone is crowding it, there is an interesting alternative within shouting distance of it: a path around Hadassah.

True, the route is not short (about 6 km) but it is surprising, special and worth every moment. And yes, it also has a spring or two.

The circular path encircles the forests of Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital, and is based on existing paths. Officially It starts at the entrance to the hospital, but we recommend starting it at the nearby Ein Sarig spring. This will be the starting and ending point. From here you will discover some "sweets" such as Ein Sarig itself, a cute little spring and Ein Handak, which travels from rock-cut caves. In Shomera (an ancient stone structure that served as a guard post for former farmers) and to enjoy the beautiful views of Ein Kerem and the surrounding area.

To know more:

Ein Sarig parking lot in Wise. This is the starting and ending point. There are a lot of trails here, so, in order not to gossip, you must have a map and a detailed "road story".

Betzet River

What everyone does:

Hikers in Nahal Kziv

What do you do:

Hikers in Nahal Betzet

Yes, yes, we know Nahal Kziv takes all the streams in the area on foot, but on the other hand - do you really want to hike in the sand of time?

After all, this is one of the most popular hiking routes in Israel.

So Nahal Betzet.

It is also beautiful, it also provides walking in a shady and pleasant forest, and it also provides water for immersion.

The full route is linear and long, and requires a bouncing vehicle.

Our suggestion: a round trip of only about four kilometers (two in each direction).

Here you will walk in the heart of a beautiful forest, you will meet the remains of a flour mill and you will also reach the water.

For this short option, your destination will be a carriage eye.

From there return the same way.

Know more:

The route is easy and suitable for small children.

Put "Kibbutz Ayalon" in Wise and from there drive according to the signs to the Nahal Betzet parking lot.

Find the black marking and walk with it.

Below is a blue marking that will take you to the flowing water.

In small.

Still interested in the long-haul route?

It is about 5.5 km long, and includes Nahal Sherech. It begins in the Sherech parking lot (Route 899) and ends in the Nahal Betzet parking lot.

The route provides a walk in a shady and pleasant forest.

Nahal Hover

What everyone is doing:

Dipping in Ein Bokek

What you are doing:

Hiking in Nahal Rahaf

True, Ein Bokek is a charming oasis and easy to hike, but to escape the crowds, we offer you a nearby, but radically different alternative.

This means a somewhat difficult hike, suitable for relatively large children (8 and up), but the gain will come from the "holy trinity of Nahal Rahaf": walking in a canyon landscape, immersion in the back of water and also a (relatively) glorious solitude.

The start of the trail is on a green marking, and with a grueling ascent, but not too long.

Next walk narrow paths over the deep canyon, so take your time and be careful.

At the end of a high rock waterfall will stop you, and at its foot - a deep and beautiful water ridge.

That's it, you got along.

And a word about immersion: a line in the account that this is not a regulated bathing site, and if you decide to immerse, it is mandatory to know how to swim and in any case leave someone out of the water (getting out of the backs, on the slippery rock, can be challenging).

It is also worth knowing that the backs are filled with standing water.

So forget about Clear Luke.

On the other hand - is there anything more exciting than a dip in a picturesque back in front of pristine desert landscapes?

To know more:

Between the signs 222-224 on road 90, turn west according to the signs for the Nahal Rahaf parking lot.

The length of the route is about three kilometers.

It is mandatory to have a map and a road story, as there are quite a few parallel and adjacent hiking trails.

The hike is not suitable for children under the age of eight and requires great care when walking on the cliff.

A bit of a difficult trip, suitable for relatively large children.

Eye parking

What everyone does:

Dip in Ein Lavan

What do you do:

Dip in Ein Haniya

One of the most popular and busy springs in the Jerusalem area is Ein Lavan.

And rightly so - it is spacious, there are lots of picnic corners next to it and also scenic views.

In short, if you do not come here at six in the morning, forget about a pleasant dip.

The alternative comes surprisingly: the nearby Ein Haniya, on the Nahal Refaim route.

There is a lot of talk about this spring, which is undergoing lengthy development and renovation processes.

Just before Passover, the spring opens to visitors, and includes not only running water and shallow pools, but also an impressive archeological complex with an ancient water system at its heart.

In fact, the site was inhabited as early as the days of the First Temple.

In excavations conducted here, even water fountains from the Byzantine period were discovered.

In short, you won a baptism plus a history.

And everything is surrounded by restored agricultural terraces and vibrant nature.

"Eye Parking" in Wise.

Entrance fee: NIS 14 for an adult, NIS 7 for a child, NIS 7 for a senior citizen.

Open daily from 16:00 to 08:00 (Friday and holiday eves until 15:00).

Just before Pesach, it is open to visitors.

Bustan River in Carmel

What everyone is doing:

Hikers in Nahal Alon in Carmel

What do you do:

Hikers in Nahal Bustan in Carmel

Did you think you know every corner of Carmel?

Have you already walked in the forest of the forties, in Nahal Kalach and in the Cave of Finger?

Did you spend hours picnicking around Little Switzerland?

It's time to get acquainted (gain, obtain) with present-day techniques that came from Carmel.

Nahal Bustan offers a surprising circular route, though not really short: a matter of seven km. If it is too long for you, you should know that there is also an option for a 3.5 km hike, but it is linear and requires two vehicles.

One way or another, expect to encounter here rock formations that require experiential climbing and walking in a beautiful forest.

What needs more than that?

Oh yes, even a minimum of hikers.

Know more:

As mentioned, there are several ways to walk in the river, so you must have a map and a road story.

Those who choose the circular route will begin and end the trip in the visitors 'parking lot, which is located outside the gates of the artists' village of Ein Hod.

Surprising circular route, though not really short.

Engagements at Givat Hamoreh

What everyone is doing:

Looking for engagements in Gilboa

What are you doing:

Looking for engagements in Givat Hamore for a

mile and a half?

Three kilometers?

Eight miles?

Just choose.

Givat Hamoreh offers a variety of hiking options.

On the one hand it's great, on the other hand - it requires you to plan your trip well and be equipped with a map.

We offer to compromise on a family hike 3.5 km long. It starts from the eastern summit of Givat HaMorah, not far from the antenna site (you will not miss it). The route begins and ends with a trail meeting marked in red and blue. of flowers of various species, as the undisputed king here is Nazareth iris, who stars in white-cream and dotted with black.

what you do:

Trip with Blossom Hills Ness Ziona

Well, it's not for you to be here alone, but still - it seems this beautiful natural site remained more or less under the radar of travelers who do not live nearby.

In general, it seems that the name "Ness Ziona Hills" does not really ignite the imagination.

The route here can last from a kilometer and a little up to 6-5 km. It all depends on you. It is impossible to brag here, on the high kurkar ridge where picturesque hills, high vantage points, secret corners and now, in spring, also plenty of blooms. Picnic stops to meet turtles on the sides of the paths, you will discover a wonderful spring bloom of chrysanthemums, poppies, blue currants and maybe even the crimson iris, if
