The so-called 'rule of 6' is back in force in England today, which extends the possibility of social contacts up to 6 people from two different families, as part of the gradual and phased release of the lockdown ) announced by Boris Johnson in recent weeks: an easing that remains cautious and conditional on the trend "of the data, not on predetermined dates", as reiterated in the past few hours by the British Prime Minister Tory himself, despite the United Kingdom continuing to run on the front of vaccines with nearly 34 million doses administered (over 30 million people who received the first injection, according to yesterday's update, and over 3.5 million boosters).
The other novelty today - after the reopening of schools at the beginning of March - concerns the resumption of individual outdoor sports activities (tennis or golf).
While non-essential shops, pubs, restaurants (except takeaway), cinemas, theaters, swimming pools and entertainment venues remain closed for the time being.
For shops and hairdressers, the reopening, if the downward trend in Covid infections continues, is set for April 12, when only outdoor service in pubs and restaurants will be allowed again;
while for cinemas, theaters and indoor venues we will talk about it again in the second half of May, when some restrictions on internal travel could also be revised.
For international travel, hotel business and collective public events a hope of normalization is indicated no earlier than 21 June.
Some coronavirus restrictions are being cautiously lifted across England today.
