His derogatory remarks about Duchess Meghan cost Piers Morgan the job.

The British moderator, however, continues to stand by his statements, as he presented in the British tabloid "Mail on Sunday" in detailed diary entries in first-person format.

In it he emphasized again that he did not believe Meghan's statements: "The longer the interview lasted, the less I believed her."

On the program "Good Morning Britain" the presenter had questioned several statements of the Duchess the morning after the TV interview of the US talker Oprah Winfrey with Harry and Meghan, for example on depression and suicidal thoughts during her first pregnancy and racist mind games Son Archie.

He called her "Princess Pinocchio".

Now he repeated his criticism and added a few points, doubted the secret wedding before the official yes-word as well as Meghan's statement that she had never googled Harry.

All of this was utter nonsense, according to Morgan, "shameful betrayal" of the royal family.

His condescending remarks had already led to an argument with his colleague Alex Beresford in the current program, and Morgan stormed out of the studio with the camera on so as not to say anything that he might regret later, as he now wrote.

He was "tired and upset" that morning, had already had twelve stressful months and slept badly.

When Beresford launched "a very personal attack" against him, he preferred to leave the studio "to cool off" before saying anything wrong.

So it came to the angry departure, which he regrets in retrospect.

Even if, as he wrote, this edition of the breakfast program was the most fiery of all time and thus “very raw, real television.

That's what we do best: passionately debating the news. "

He was also advised to apologize for the rant against Meghan.

He didn't do that, instead he wrote: "I don't think Meghan, why should I apologize?"

Piers Morgan and Meghan Markle knew each other, but she broke off contact when she entered into a relationship with Prince Harry.

Since then, the moderator has become one of her most vehement opponents.

Morgan also defamed the American on several occasions on Twitter.

After that morning show, more than 41,000 complaints were received by the British media regulator Ofcom within less than 24 hours, and experts and advice centers accused Morgan of trivializing mental illness.

According to consistent reports, Meghan herself apparently also submitted a letter of complaint.

A little later, Morgan had lost his moderation job.
